Brightfind Wins the Communicator Award for SOA’s Website

In recognition of its distinctive creative work for the Society of Actuaries (SOA) website, Brightfind was awarded the 2015 Communicator Award of Excellence, in the category of Association Websites. Brightfind’s innovative card-based design, with its focus on reusability, provided SOA an extraordinary design strategy for accommodating its highly varied content categories and audiences.

The Communicator Awards, which “honors work that transcends innovation and craft,” are “sanctioned and judged” by the Academy of Interactive & Visual Arts (AIVA), whose members include executives from Disney, MTV Networks, Sotheby’s Institute of Art, Time, Inc., Yahoo, and Wired, among other highly respected communication firms. Brightfind competed with 6000 entrants from all around the globe to become AIVA’s choice for the Award of Excellence.

As the highest honor bestowed by the Communicator Awards, the Award of Excellence is “given to those entrants whose ability to communicate positions them as the best in the field.” Brightfind, formerly the Web Division of Syscom Services, recently became its own company, with a strategic goal of becoming “best in class.” To that end, Brightfind has upgraded its capabilities in design, user experience, web strategy, and experience insight, its continuous improvement subscription.

“It’s great to get industry confirmation of something that we knew all along. The Brightfind and the SOA teams did an excellent job!” said Jim Grisius, Web Communications Manager for SOA.

Frank Klassen, Brightfind’s CEO agreed. He added, “We couldn’t have done it without our wonderful client partners at SOA. Successful creative collaboration takes a unique combination of design skills, communication skills, insight, empathy, and perseverance – and those elements really gelled between SOA and Brightfind on this project.”
